Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Family Board App (“FamilyBoard,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your access to and use of the FamilyBoard website and application (the “Service”). Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Eligibility & parental role

You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of any child you add to the Service. By registering, you represent that you meet these requirements and that you have the authority to provide consent for your child’s use of the Service as described in our Privacy Policy. The Service is intended to be set up and supervised by a parent or guardian.

FamilyBoard lets parents create chores and quests, award points, set goals and rewards, track streaks and savings, and manage approvals for their children. We may add, change, or remove features over time to improve the Service.

You retain ownership of the content you and your family create in the Service (such as chore names, goals, and notes). You grant us a limited license to store, display, and process that content solely to provide the Service to you. You are responsible for the content you add and confirm you have the right to add it.

7. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, and content we provide, is owned by Family Board App and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for your family’s personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers (such as Stripe for payments and our hosting and email providers). Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Family Board App and its officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or US $100.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Family Board App from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, fail to pay applicable fees, or where necessary to protect the Service or other users. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. You agree that the courts located in the State of South Carolina, United States will have jurisdiction over any disputes, except where applicable law grants you rights in your place of residence.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
