Terms of Service
Effective date: July 3, 2026 · Applies to FamilyBoard
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Family Board App (“FamilyBoard,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your access to and use of the FamilyBoard website and application (the “Service”). Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility & parental role
You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of any child you add to the Service. By registering, you represent that you meet these requirements and that you have the authority to provide consent for your child’s use of the Service as described in our Privacy Policy. The Service is intended to be set up and supervised by a parent or guardian.
2. The Service
FamilyBoard lets parents create chores and quests, award points, set goals and rewards, track streaks and savings, and manage approvals for their children. We may add, change, or remove features over time to improve the Service.
3. Accounts & children
- You are responsible for the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials confidential.
- You are responsible for the child profiles you create and for your children’s use of the Service, including sharing each child’s private sign-in link and PIN responsibly.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your family account.
4. Trial, billing & cancellation
- Free trial. New families receive a free trial of 7 days. No payment card is required to start.
- Subscription. After the trial, continued use costs $2.99 per month unless a different price is shown to you at signup or in the app. We will ask for a payment method when your trial ends.
- Payments. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing you authorize us (through Stripe) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
- Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future charges; access continues until the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. [Adjust this if you offer a refund window.]
- Price changes. We may change subscription pricing with reasonable advance notice; changes apply to the next billing period.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose;
- Attempt to access another family’s data or disrupt or reverse-engineer the Service;
- Upload content that is illegal, infringing, or inappropriate for a family setting;
- Use the Service to collect personal information from children other than as a parent/guardian managing your own family; or
- Interfere with the security or integrity of the Service.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you and your family create in the Service (such as chore names, goals, and notes). You grant us a limited license to store, display, and process that content solely to provide the Service to you. You are responsible for the content you add and confirm you have the right to add it.
7. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, and content we provide, is owned by Family Board App and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for your family’s personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers (such as Stripe for payments and our hosting and email providers). Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Family Board App and its officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or US $100.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Family Board App from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms or applicable law.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, fail to pay applicable fees, or where necessary to protect the Service or other users. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. You agree that the courts located in the State of South Carolina, United States will have jurisdiction over any disputes, except where applicable law grants you rights in your place of residence.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
